About Me
I am an independent animation artist, director, storyteller, and poet. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Communications from the University of Tehran and a Master’s degree in Animation from Tehran University of Art. Currently, I teach at Emily Carr University of Art and Design and have been a regular faculty member in the Animation department at Tehran University of Art for several years.
I chose animation for its unique characteristics and the limitless possibilities it offers to conceptualize and explore impossible worlds. I have supervised over 70 practical and theoretical MA animation theses and have taught several animation workshops for children, youth, and adults.
My expertise and interests span creative writing, storytelling, narratology, Aristotelian studies, improvisation, art therapy, drawing, short animation, and experimental animation. I have shared my research through publications, articles, and presentations at the Society for Animation Studies’ conferences in Canterbury, Singapore, and Montreal, as well as at other venues. In addition to my academic pursuits, I have directed seven short animations, written several animation scripts, and contributed to the production of numerous animations.
